A recent study by RealEstate.com showed that landscaping and hardscaping can deliver a return on investment as high as 150 percent.  This is very significant for any realtor or homeowner trying to sell a house.  The study proved that when potential buyers “saw state-of-the-art landscaping and hardscapes like fire pits and high-end pavers, they assumed that the inside of the house will be as spectacular as the outside” according to John Duffy Real Estate.

Blase DeMichele of B. DeMichele Inc. says  “todays homeowners want to extend their living areas, so they’re choosing to create outdoor living spaces. The most popular items are:

  • Covered outdoor spaces with kitchen components
  • Stone veneer sitting walls
  • Fire pits
  • Patio covers

Also, a recent Houzz study showed that 70% of homeowners want a contractor who is an expert in his field.  This is a far cry from the DIY-mentality.
